Rehomed Horses

Trigger was adopted in 2022, however, came back due to behavioral issues. He was lucky to find another adopter in 2023 who is happy to work through his issues. We know he isn't the easiest horse to deal with and he is always welcomed back.

Kirra is a 2022 brumby filly who was found abandoned as a newborn baby in Cherbourg QLD. She overcame many obstacles from needing a plasma infusion to receiving damage to her growth plate. She is now fully healed and has been adopted by GreyGum Equine where she will be broken once older.

Red is a 2005 Thoroughbred Gelding who was surrendered as he was in a very bad way due to neglect. After tracing his history down we found out he was in the movie 'Ride Like a Girl', was started in para dressage and was a nanny. The RSPCA have been involved and he has now been adopted by his breeders who are giving him a forever retirement home. He is now completely healthy and back to his chunky self!

Harley is a 2015 Thoroughbred Gelding who required rehoming. He was sold in 2023 to a woman who runs a stud, however, he was sold by the new owner without disclosing his prior injuries. He was passed around and finally found his way back to me in Nov 2024. He is in rehab awaiting a new home under contract. 

Echel is a 2016 Thoroughbred mare by Top Echelon who was rehomed to west vets as a broodmare in the recipient program. She was bought with the intention of training her as a jumper, but her temperament was not correct for that career path.

Darcy is a 2009 Thoroughbred Gelding who was surrendered due to financial hardship in 2022. He was adopted by a lovely lady who was getting back into riding and wanted a safe trail riding and pleasure horse. He has an old injury to his hoof which causes no soundness issues. He is still living his best life!

Geroge is a 16'2hh, 6y thoroughbred gelding. He was transported from North QLD in order to find himself a great home. He is a very lovely boy and easy to handle. George had a 3-month abscess that needed to be x-rayed. It was finally popped by the vet and he was ready for his new home. He has now been adopted as a trail and pleasure riding horse. 

Misty is a 22yr, 8hh pony who was surrendered after her owners faced some hardships. She came in with severe QLD itch which was treated immediately. She had her teeth, vaccinations, worming and feet done and was adopted out in 2023 as a companion.

Kalesee is a 2014 Dartmoor x mare. She was surrendered due to financial hardship in 2022 and was adopted by GreyGum Equine. She is supposedly broken to cart and is being restarted under saddle for their riding program

Snickers was a 4month old, stock horse colt rescued from the Laidley sales in November 2021. He came completely unhandled and has learnt to lead, tie, trim and float. He has been adopted into Hoof beats Sanctuary in the Sunshine Coast and will spend the remainder of his life being spoilt.

This beautiful boy is a 2009 brumby from Mt Kosciusko in Victoria. He was dropped off to us straight out of the wild, unhandled and scared. He has come a long way and is now handled and under saddle! He is currently available for sale to an approved home.

Clover is a 14’2, 20yr Arabian mare who was surrendered by her owners in Gympie. They could no longer give her the care she deserved and decided to give us a call. She has gained weight and condition since being here and has enjoyed playing in the large fields. Unfortunately, Clover found herself in the Laidley sale yards in December 2021 and we luckily noticed her standing sadly, underweight and with some concerning leg wounds. She was rescued yet again with the help of other rescues and police, she has been taken on by Amanda Vella. She will be available for adoption once healthy through her rescue.

Harley is a 5yr thoroughbred from the Sunshine Coast. He was surrendered after losing a terrible amount of weight. Although we didn't have the room at that time, we took him on. We then contacted Hucknall Horses and they were more than happy to take Harley on to rehabilitate and rehome. 

Bella is a 15'1hh, 10 yr thoroughbred mare. She was unraced and unregistered, yet branded. She came in with some behavioural issues, however, she made big improvements whilst here. She struggled to get her feet done, load, give personal space and tie. She is green broke and has now been adopted out to be used as a pleasure horse.

This stunning girl was surrendered to us by her owners who could no longer look after her. She is a 10yr, 17hh warmblood x thoroughbred mare. Sadly, she couldn't be used as a riding horse due to old injuries so was a paddock companion only. Solar was adopted out and enjoyed her life as a companion living out her days surrounded by many horses. With heavy hearts, Solar passed away late this year due to suddenly becoming ill. She passed away rapidly whilst on an agistment property and little could be done to save her. Solar was a lovely horse and we are all devastated at her loss. She is now flying high and we are sending her our love. 

Shadow was another surrender from Equine Voice Australia and is a 18yr thoroughbred mare. Shadow was rescued off a dogger and her personality has blossomed since. Shadow will live out her days as a companion only due to an old injury. Shadow has recently been taken on by Equine Action QLD and will be available for adoption as a companion.

Ginger is a 23yr registered QH mare who was surrendered by another horse rescue due to no room. Her owner was having a rough time and could not look after her as well as she needed. She came in emaciated and had not had her teeth done in her entire life. Ginger has been used as a riding horse in her younger years and was also used as a broodmare. She is a sweet horse and very well handled. Ginger has been taken on by Equine Action QLD and is available for adoption. 

Tiah is a registered 20yr Arabian mare who was surrendered after her owner could no longer give her the attention she deserves. Tiah was adopted out in 2021 but was surrendered back after being too forward for their kids. Tiah was then adopted again in 2022 by a more experienced rider and will be used as a pleasure and trail horse on their large property. 

Butterscotch is a TB gelding who was surrendered after a breakup. He was surrendered after losing a fair bit of weight. He is the most gorgeous boy and will let you do ANYTHING with him. He still has a long road ahead to gain weight. Butterscotch has been taken on by Equine Action QLD and will be available for adoption through them.

We helped rehome Diva in 2022 on behalf of her owner. She was a registered and a royalty bred Arabain mare. She did have some behavioural and health issues. She unfortunately passed away in 2023.

Faith was surrendered by Equine Voice Australia after they bid on her at the Gympie sales. She was a very head shy girl and little information is known about her. She is approximately 17yrs old and is in great condition. She received all her vaccinations and had her teeth and feet done whilst here. She has now been rehomed with a family back in Gympie to use as a companion and maybe eventually a kids pony. 

Piggy is a 2015 Thoroughbred Gelding who was rehomed in 2022. He was sold to a nice lady who plans to use him for pleasure and cattle work. 

Cisco is a 2010 Standardbred gelding who was saved from being a direct ship to the abattoir. He was broken into saddle and was with us from 2021-2023. He was finally adopted out into his forever home late 2023. Cisco is the horse that started it all. He was a great and safe ride and shows how versatile Standardbreds can be. He will forever be in my heart.  

Rocko is a 5yr Thoroughbred from Deagon. He was surrendered after the owners couldn't find a home for him. He spent a short time here to relax and run in a big paddock. He has now been taken on by Hucknall horses to continue his spell and join their education program. 

Kosci is a 5/6yr brumby gelding who was rehomed in 2021, he came back in 2022 due to QLD itch. He has now been adopted again.

Dale is a 2016 Thoroughbred Gelding who was rehomed successfully in 2022 to a lovely family. He was retired due to having 2 surgeries on his knees and had inoperable bone chips.  

Hazel is a 1999 Thoroughbred mare who was surrendered after her owner couldn't provide adequate care. We took her on briefly to get her out of the current home. She was then given to SAHA where she has received the care she needs.

Jack is a 9yr, 16hh thoroughbred gelding. He was taken in after his owner lost their job due to covid. Jack was struggling with his weight despite futile attempts to help him ranging from unlimited hay, massive feeds, worming, teeth and ulcer treatments. Jack finally started to gain weight whilst with us and was visited by a lovely family who fell in love with him. He was adopted out in February 2022. Sadly, due to the 2022 floods, Jack sustained infections in his bones and developed laminitis. Due to this, he was euthanised as he was in too much pain with no treatment available.

Benne is a 3yr, 15.2hh Anglo Arabian Gelding rescued from the Laidley sales by his old owner. He was then rehomed by his owner to another individual under a free lease. However, he was neglected and had constant abscesses. Due to this, he was surrendered to us. After x-rays, it showed a severe club foot with rotation, bone abnormalities and resorption. Beny was given the last act of kindness in 2022 

Megsy is an aged mare at 25yrs. She was a kid's pony for 8 years before coming here on an agistment basis to find a new home. She was adopted in 2022 to be a kid's horse once again and to live out her retirement. 

Huxley was a 10yr SH x QH who was sold on behalf of a client to a young lady in QLD. He has since been rehomed due to not suiting his previous family. All this lovely boy needs is time and an experienced family. 

Momo was an 8yr 16'3hh TB gelding who came here due to kissing spine. He was then adopted by his old stablehand in Melbourne where he has undergone therapy and is back under saddle. It was discovered that the narrowing in the spine was due to an old injury, not KS.

Kora is a 16yr warmblood x thoroughbred mare who was surrendered after being stuck by a car trailer. She was rehabbed and adopted out by a wonderful family. She has been a good confidence booster for them.

Topaz was a 2yr QH gelding who was surrendered after his owners moved overseas. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they moved back to Australia and purchased this young boy back as they loved him so much. Unfortunately he needed to be rehomed AGAIN, so came back here to be sold. He has since gone to a fantastic home!

Rusty was a 14yr Standardbred Gelding who came here to find a new home. He has since been purchased by a young girl for pony club and they have won their first ribbon together.

Peso was an 2014 Brumby gelding from Kosciusko National Park. He was sent here from Clearview Brumby Rescue where he received handling before heading off to his new home. He is such a handsome boy who has flourished with his current owner.

Athena is a 2015, 14hh QH x Arab mare who was surrendered after the owner lost her confidence. She is a well-trained mare and has been a pleasure to ride. Athena was adopted out in September 2022 as a riding mount for a young girl. Unfortunately, she came back in 2024 with some behavioral issues and anxiety. She has been adopted by GreyGum Equine who will try to work through her fears and get her back under saddle.

Paint is a 16yr gelding who was surrendered to live out his days with us. However, more investigations into his soundness showed arthritis in his joints. Due to this, he was sent to Amanda Vella's sanctuary to live out his days. Our paddocks are far too hilly and put too much strain on his joints. He is now happily retired with 3 other horses. 

Cloud is an 11yr Morgan X pony who came from the Sydney Sales. She was surrendered after her owners couldn't care for her anymore. She received some much needed hoof and dental care and was adopted out in October 2022. She is now residing at Highview Park Equestrian and will become a ridden pony for their riding school. She is living a spoilt life with everything she could ever need.

Soo Sweet is a 2020 Thoroughbred mare who was rehomed in 2024 for her trainers. She has gone to be a broodmare due to retiring with changes in her joints. Therefore, is unsuitable under saddle.

Bremers is a 2019 Thoroughbred gelding who was rehomed in 2024 for her trainers. He has gone to a home where he will be rehabbed due to a bowed tendon.

Sweet Bucks is a 2021 Thoroughbred mare who was rehomed in 2024 for her trainers. She has gone to a polo breeding home due to retiring with a fracture that cannot be screwed. Therefore, is unsuitable under saddle.

Freddie is a 2020 Shetland gelding rehomed in 2024 to a wonderful home as a companion! His mum is Queenie and they are both still local to the area!

Queenie is a 2013 mare who was rehomed in 2024 to a kind family who intends to use her for therapy and companionship. Her son is Freddie.

2019 Thoroughbred gelding rehomed in 2023. Retired due to a bowed tendon.

Rosie is a 2013 Thoroughbred mare who was rehomed on behalf of her owner. She was sold in foal to Warrego William and can be used as a broodmare or ridden horse. She is a lovely girl in almost every department.

Dalgo is a 2014, 14'2hh Appaloosa x QH gelding who was surrendered, then broken into saddle and rehomed in 2023. He was an absolute champion to train.

Hilton is a 2017 QH that was rehomed in 2024 on behalf of his owners.

Askari is a 2015 Thoroughbred gelding who was surrendered in 2023 with bad ulcers and behavioral issues. With a lot of rehab, he was put back under saddle and was one of the best horses ever! He is a very talented showjumper and was rehomed to the best home possible!

Herby is a 2020 Thoroughbred gelding who retired in 2024. He came to us and was rehomed to a lovely showjumper. He did have a throat operation during racing, but made a good recovery.

Just Jerry is a 2007 Thoroughbred that was rehomed in 2024 on behalf of his owners.

Tino is a 2015 registered SH gelding who came here for training and to be sold for his owners. Unfortunately, with more work and diagnostics, he wasn't suited for intense riding due to check ligament surgery which caused conformation issues. He was rehomed to a wedding business for photos to one of our neighbours! 

Tommy is a 2018 Thoroughbred gelding whom was rehomed on behalf of his owners.

Gretchen is a 2013, 16'3hh Holstein mare who came her early 2024. She unfortunately has bad behavioural issues under saddle and therefore was rehomed as a broodmare to a boutique WB stud in late 2024.

Rhythm is a registered unnamed Standardbred mare rescued from a property late 2024, malnourished and heavily in foal. We managed to get her out and SAHA agreed to take her on. She gave birth to a healthy colt just over a week later which they named Blues.

Izzy is an approx 2019 mare rescued from a property with a dangerous stallion, heavily in foal, unhandled, lame, and with bighead. We managed to get her out and she was taken on by Sam from Lockyer Valley Horse Transport.

Doonie is a registered Standardbred gelding rescued from a property after being mutilated by a dangerous stallion. He was taken straight to the vets where he stayed for several days. He was rehomed to a older lady in NSW.

Ringo is a 2018 Stockhorse gelding rescued from a property after being attacked by a dangerous stallion. He was rehomed to a local home.

Lily is a 2021 Standardbred mare who was rescued from a property with a dangerous stallion. She was unhandled, lame, had minor bighead, and had been running with a stallion so could be pregnant.

Poppy is a 2023 3/4 Standardbred 1/4 Welsh filly rescued from a property with a dangerous stallion. She was unhandled, but curious and sweet. She was rehomed to a local home

Dior is a 2015 Thoroughbred mare who was surrendered by her breeders/trainer after failing to get in foal. She was rehomed to a family in Caboolture QLD.

Zawadi is a 2015 Thoroughbred Gelding who was surrendered after retiring from a fractured splint bone. He spent some time with us before heading to Hucknall Horses.

Under The Covers is a 2019 Thoroughbred gelding that retired due to a suspensory injury. He was rehomed in 2023.

Louie is a 2020 Thoroughbred Gelding who retired due to a core lesion in his tendon. He was rehomed to a friend and is used for feedlot work and pleasure riding.

Bryan was a 28yr Appaloosa gelding found dumped in the national park. He was taken in by Vision Equine and given the absolute best care. Unfortunately, he failed to gain weight and went down in the paddock and was humanely euthanised. The vets believed he had internal cancer due to his symptoms.

Grace was a Stockhorse rescued from the Laidley sales by her previous owners. We facilitated her transfer to Hucknall Horses where she was euthanised due to chronic pain and irreversible hoof issues.

Star was a 32yr QH gelding who we facilitated help after his elderly owner could no longer care for him. Unfortunately due to his age and health problems (eye ulcer, no teeth, bad feet and poor condition), the RSPCA decided it was in Stars best interest to be humanely euthanised.

Benne is a 2018 Anglo Arabian Gelding rescued from the laidley sales. He was then rehomed through us to another family.

Zena is a 2006 Shetland mare who was rehomed through us in 2024. She was adopted by a lovely family in Mt Mee

Pippa is a 2014 Shetland mare who was rehomed for her owners in 2024. She was adopted by a lovely family in Mt Mee.

Black Betty is a 2014 Shetland mare we rehomed for her owners in 2024.
